About Tartes du Soleil

I’m Cassandra!

When I was 9, I received my first chef hat and apron as a gift for a heritage holiday (Three Kings’ Day) because my abuela knew my love for watching anything Food Network and pretending to host a cooking show.

My passion for baking grew as I’ve spent many hours reading, studying, and experimenting out of a need to work with my hands after being on the computer for my day job in tech.

With my friends and family as my willing taste testers, Tartes du Soleil was born in 2023 as a licensed home bakery!

I specialize in French-inspired curd (fruity) and custard (milky) tarts. I love seasonal produce and trying unique flavors, taking inspiration from everywhere, including my Puerto Rican heritage, local businesses, other chefs, and flavor combinations from around the world.

The name “Tartes du Soleil,” or “tarts of the sun,” not only honors the French inspiration and the fluted edge of each tart that looks like a little sun, but also the warm, bright glow that a little treat can make you feel on your best and worst days.

Ready to sprinkle some sunshine into your day?
